Three Australian businesses win in this year’s HP Indigo Digital Printing Contest.

450 entries were received from 37 different countries. Group Momentum and Picpress won in the environmental impact and special processes categories respectively, while Momento Pro achieved a second place in the photo speciality category.

According to one of the judges, Bill Garno, entries this year “impressed the judges with beautiful design, effective marketing approaches and the highest print quality.”

For Michael Warshall of Picpress, the past two years have been a case of close, but no cigar. “We’ve been runners up [before],” he said. “It is fantastic to take out the first prize this year.”

David Minnet of Group Momentum believes that the HP Indigo has made it possible for the company to produce “the very best quality offset digital print product that we can.”

Coming second in the photo speciality category gives photobook specialist international standing, according to Libby Jeffery, general manager of Momento Pro. “This reinforces our positioning at the premium end of the photobook market not only in Australia, but in an international context also,” she said.

“This award further builds Momento Pro’s credibility as a leader in the field of high quality photobook production.”
