The revolutionary Stylus® Pro WT7900 with UltraChrome HDR White Ink is only weeks away from being available to local graphics arts professionals, brand owners, flexographic and gravure printing companies.

Set to redefine the workflow of packaging professionals the groundbreaking Stylus® Pro WT7900 delivers unique proofing capability with the world's first water-based white ink. Capable of imaging on both clear and opaque substrates, the new ink-jet proofer will change the way graphic arts professionals and packaging clients review proofs.

A world away from the traditional expensive, high maintenance packaging proofers, the Stylus® Pro WT7900 is a low cost, high-tech solution. At $15,394 it delivers remarkable performance, outputting an A2 package proof in less than 16 minutes using a uni-directional, 720x1440dpi print mode.

According to Craig Heckenberg (pictured), Business Unit Manager, Business Solutions Division, at Epson Australia, the WT7900 will take package proofing to new levels.

"The great thing about the Epson Stylus® Pro WT7900 is that it meets the needs of graphic arts professionals who want colour accurate package proofs without the high expense of other conventional package proofing systems."

The acclaimed patented UltraChrome White Ink represents a technological breakthrough. Epson researchers developed a method of using an organic clear resin particle to replace the use of inorganic titanium dioxide previously used in white ink. Previously, white inks used the powder Titanium dioxide (Tio2), containing large particles that quickly settle when dispersed in liquid due to gravity. This reaction and size of particles causes white ink to clog print heads and damage ink delivery systems, which results in costly and untimely repairs.

Epson MicroPiezo TFP print heads specially designed to work with the highly viscous white ink combine with nine colour, wide gamut,
production including orange and green (C, M, Y, Pk, Lc, Lm, Or, G, W) to deliver the new generation of packaging proofs.

Currently undergoing calbration and testing for local conditions at Epson HQ in Australia, the Stylus® Pro WT7900 with UltraChrome HDR White Ink will be available from selected Epson Professional Graphics resellers in mid February. Click here to ask for a demonstration.
