Across the Nullarbor Plains they will wander

A pair of digital printers are getting ready to drive from Ballarat to Margaret River on a mission to make money for Variety children’s charity.

Bruce Peddelsden, from Melbourne-based On Demand and Peter Benjamin from Discus Digital Print in Western Australia, are teaming up to dust bust their way across the Nullarbor in August. They are seeking sponsorship from the printing industry through their Facebook page. Already a line-up of industry types has seen them come very close to the minimum $7,000 in donations.

This year’s Victorian Variety Bash is an 11-day fundraiser for those who enjoy hooning across vast empty landscapes in 30-year old cars. The pair are setting off on the 5000km jaunt in a 1966 HR Holden, well outside the age limit.

“A lot of the trip is conducted on gravel roads, which will sorely challenge the old car, and we feel our best friend will be our toolbox!” remarks Peddelsden. “As can be seen in the mockup of the car, wine will be our theme. We are driving through the Barossa Valley and ending up in Margret River! Everyone will be able to follow our adventures on our Facebook site.”

All sponsorship is paid directly to Variety, noting Car 15.
